Custom camera builds
The custom-camera archive spans nodal cinema systems, panoramic capture and vehicle-mounted rigs. Nodal Arri, Nodal Helium, Nightcrawler and Daycrawler document different camera arrangements through hardware photographs and field deployments.
The collaborative BB360 project brought together 360 Designs, AMD and Arka Media in 2016. Its 32 genlocked Blackmagic cameras recorded fully spherical stereo video. The modular array could be packed for transport and reconfigured on the Baahubali 2 set.
The NAB 2016 technical presentation covers the related camera geometry, real-time stitching and livestreaming workflows. The album follows the systems from optical alignment and mounting through assembly and production testing.
