nLIGHT HD3D

VCS contributed camera engineering to nLIGHT’s HD3D development in 2022–23, including work related to custom optics and camera systems.

nLIGHT describes HD3D as an optical depth-sensing system that supplies depth maps alongside the main camera stream. Synchronizing those two kinds of image information supports the combination of live-action footage with computer-generated content. The manufacturer’s product image and demonstrations show the camera and its intended virtual-production use.
