A/Re You There?

A/Re You There? brought Company E’s dance work into augmented reality through volumetric capture. In 2019, dancer Jason Ignacio performed inside the camera array while the system recorded his movement from different directions.

The captured performance could then appear through a phone as a three-dimensional dancer. The project photographs follow that route from the capture session to augmented-reality playback, including a demonstration above a printed target. Company E identifies the work as the starting point for its later augmented-reality projects.
